Alice Cooper Joined By Johnny Depp At London Show

Alice Cooper has closed his tour of the UK in memorable fashion, with Johnny Depp joining the grim prince on stage at a show on Sunday, June 26.

The concert took place at the tiny venue of the 100 Club on Oxford Street while hundreds of thousands gathered at Glastonbury in Somerset.

The appearance of Depp on stage during Cooper’s set would have been no surprise to anyone keeping abreast of their social media. According to Spinner, Cooper posted a photo on Facebook of Depp wielding a guitar backstage accompanied by the caption, “Johnny Depp!! Waiting to jump on stage with Alice for ’18’ and ‘Schools Out!'”

Sure enough, later in the evening Cooper said between songs, “I think we could use another guitar player, right? Johnny, this whole movie thing … If it doesn’t pan out, join us, okay?”

Depp went on to play on 18, a version of Pink Floyd‘s Another Brick In The Wall and School’s Out. It wasn’t Depp’s first guest appearance in the rock world, having played guitar on Oasis‘s Fade In-Out and joined them on stage on occasion. He has also worked with Shane McGowan on the Pogues frontman’s solo album.

Depp and Cooper first bonded on the 1984 film Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare.
