Dave Grohl, Ozzy Osbourne, Paul Stanley & More Pay Tribute To AC/DC’s Malcolm Young

Tributes are flowing in for AC/DC co-founder Malcolm Young who passed away at the age of 64 this weekend.

The news was shared by his family and since there’s been an outpouring of tributes from the musical community since.

His remaining AC/DC bandmates led the way with a moving tribute on their Facebook page remembering, “the driving force behind the band.

“As a guitarist, songwriter and visionary he was a perfectionist and a unique man. He always stuck to his guns and did and said exactly what he wanted. He took great pride in all that he endeavored. His loyalty to the fans was unsurpassed.”

It’s a sentiment that’s been echoed by many fellow musicians who are remembering everything from his pioneering role in the band to those iconic guitar riffs.

Ozzy Osbourne, Eddie Van Halen, KISS‘ Paul Stanley and Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters among others have shared heartfelt memories and tributes.

Stanley called him, “a sometimes unsung icon,” and, “one of the true greats,” while Def Leppard said, “he was an incredible guitar player & the glue for that band onstage & off.”

Meanwhile Grohl shared his story of the the first time he saw AC/DC’s Let There Be Rock live movie.

“It was the first time I lost control to music. The first time I wanted to be in a band,” he said.
