Were Linkin Park Kicked Out Of The American Music Awards?

Linkin Park fans are racking their brains right now, trying to figure out if the band were kicked out of yesterday’s American Music Awards, or if it was all just a big hoax set up by the group’s Mike Shinoda.

After accepting their award for ‘Favorite Alternative Rock Artist’ and dedicating it to their late frontman Chester Bennington, Shinoda and his bandmates Brad Delson and Rob Bourdon were supposedly escorted from the venue by security and police personnel.

Posting on his Instagram story — which you can flick through below — Shinoda detailed what appeared to be some kind of mix up with the band’s event credentials, which eventually led to them being given temporary access passes before being given the runaround by security.

“We don’t have the right tickets and passes (they may kick us out),” Shinoda wrote, before sharing video of himself speaking with a police officer.

“We’re supposed to be here, I promise,” Shinoda can be heard telling the office, before writing in his story, “Uh oh, they’re kicking us out. Oh well. Goodnight!”

This year’s AMAs also featured a minor controversy when the internet couldn’t figure out what P!nk thought of Christina Aguilera’s Whitney Houston cover, which some have criticised for a few bum notes.

Meanwhile, Linkin Park recently announced a new live album, which will feature some of Chester Bennington’s final performances.
