Vanfest 2017 Has Been Cancelled

Vanfest 2017 has been cancelled and it’s all mother nature’s fault.

The NSW regional romp kicked off in Forbes yesterday, but organisers have been forced to pull the plug on Day 2’s festivities due to the batsh*t cray weather conditions, with the festival site set to be battered by heavy rain and potential thunderstorms.

They’ve just announced the super sad news in a statement on the official Vanfest Facebook page, which reads:

“VANFEST 2017 SADLY CANCELLED

It saddens us to confirm that due to current & forecasted weather conditions, and in the interest of the safety of our patrons and staff, we have made the decision to cancel the remainder of Vanfest 2017.

The safety of our patrons, artists, and staff is paramount, and our team of Vanfest staff, and local volunteers have pulled together in numbers to ensure the safe exit of all campers from the festival site. Please follow all directions from site officials.

Ticket and cashless top-up refunds will be available from Ticketbooth, who will advise the refund process early next week. More information will be available on Vanfest Facebook and www.vanfest.com.au. There is nothing that you need to do at this point in time, we appreciate your patience during this period.”

Fans were treated to sets by Tigertown, Dune RatsSan CiscoThundamentalsTash Sultana and more during yesterday’s rainy conditions, but will now miss out on seeing the likes of Amy SharkCarmadaCosmo’s Midnight and Ali Barter, who were all set to perform today.

It must have been a super tough decision for organisers but good on them for putting safety first.

We’ll bring you any more news on this as it develops.
