Aussie DJ Says Calvin Harris Promised To Remix Spice Girls If Australia Passed SSM

In the wake of Australia finally getting its shit together and passing the marriage equality bill with flying rainbow colours yesterday, Calvin Harris is being urged to act on a SSM-related promise he apparently made to an Aussie DJ five years ago.

Adelaide muso Filip Odzak has taken to Twitter to remind Harris of a “hand shake” agreement the super-producer struck at Sydney nightclub Marquee back when he was here for Stereosonic in 2012, the terms of which apparently involved him remixing the Spice Girls‘ classic sexy-time ballad ‘2 Become 1’ when Australia finally legalised same-sex marriage.

“Well it just happened today,” Filip apparently told Harris in a text, calling on him to keep up his side of the bargain.

Sharing the text with the Twitterverse alongside a photo that the pair snapped together on that fateful night, Filip added: “For five years I’ve been waiting for this! I’m very excited to hear what you do with the iconic track to celebrate this momentous occasion. A deal is a deal!”

And Australia is now following suit, turning up the heat on Harris to deliver on the promised remix.

Calvin is yet to respond, but the people are waiting…
