Police Assaulted & Dozens Allegedly Found With Drugs At Alison Wonderland ‘Scarehouse’ Show

Police officers were assaulted and dozens of people were allegedly found with drugs at the Sydney leg of Alison Wonderland‘s Scarehouse Project tour on the weekend.

News Corp Australia reports that two people were charged with assaulting police at the event, which saw around 5,000 people party at a mystery location in Abbotsbury on Saturday.

31 people were charged with drug possession or were given drug warnings at the event, while 45 were reportedly ejected for being too drunk. One person was also rushed to hospital, while over 140 needed medical attention. Despite that, police reportedly said attendees were largely well-behaved.

The Scarehouse Project tour made its way through Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney between November and December, and featured sets from the likes of A$AP Ferg, Lido and (of course) Alison Wonderland.

UPDATE 12/12/17: In a statement to Music Feeds, Scarehouse Project organisers say:

“Our main priority is for festival goers to have a safe experience at each event. Multiple pre-event stakeholder meetings were conducted with Police, ambulance, local council and first aid in order to ensure we were following all protocols. Event organisers in Sydney were given commendation by the Police on the safety and operation of the event, which was enjoyed by thousands of people safely.

“The music festival’s event licence features stringent conditions around drug management that fully comply with legislative requirements, and are consistent with the NSW Government and police requirements around drug prevention and harm minimisation strategies at public events.”
