Rage Against The Machine & Radiohead Snubbed By Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame

The 2018 Rock & Roll Hame Of Fame inductees have just been announced, and two of the world’s most influential rock groups have been left off the list.

After being nominated for the Hall Of Fame in October, riff-raisers Rage Against The Machine and the Thom Yorke-fronted Radiohead have both been snubbed by the Rock Hall, with five other acts picking up spots in the Hall’s 2018 class of inductees.

Bon Jovi, Dire Straits, The Moody Blues, The Cars and Nina Simone will all be inducted in April’s official induction ceremony, while Sister Rosetta Tharpe will be given an Early Influence award.

The fact that Radiohead and Rage Against The Machine won’t be inducted isn’t too surprising, given this is the first year they’ve been eligible for the Rock Hall, and it can take years before acts are eventually inducted.

Radiohead also don’t seem to care about the Rock Hall anyway, with guitarist Jonny Greenwood telling Rolling Stone earlier this year, “I don’t care,” and a representative for the band confirming that they wouldn’t be attending any Rock Hall ceremony.

The 2018 Rock Hall inductees were determined by a committee of 800 artists, historians and music industry members, as well as a fan vote. To be eligible, a nominee’s first recording must have been released at least 25 years ago.

Other nominees who missed out on a spot include the likes of Eurythmics, Depeche Mode, Judas Priest, Kate Bush and LL Cool J.

The induction ceremony will take place in Cleveland on 14th April.
