UPDATE: Concert Promoter David Cutbush Responds To Allegations Of Sexual Misconduct
ORIGINAL STORY: Australian concert promoter David Cutbush has been fired from his role at touring company Life Is Noise, over allegations of sexual misconduct.
In a statement to Music Feeds, Life Is Noise Director Jack Midalia says that Cutbush, who was a co-owner of Life Is Noise, now “has no involvement or association with Life Is Noise, either in terms of employment or as owner”.
In a statement posted to Facebook today, Midalia told Life Is Noise Facebook followers:
“I’d like to respond to recent reports of unacceptable behaviour towards women by company Director, Dave Cutbush.
“I take these reports seriously, and deeply apologise for not providing the safe space that the women in our industry deserve. Dave will no longer have any involvement or association with Life is Noise, effective immediately.”
Allegations against Cutbush came to light on Facebook overnight, including allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards an underage girl and alleged verbal and physical abuse against women.
A number of people also said they would boycott attending Life Is Noise tours in response to the allegations. Music Feeds has contacted Cutbush for comment.
Life Is Noise has worked with the likes of Neurosis, Chelsea Wolfe, Sleep, Pallbearer, Boris, Tortoise and Sunn O))) in the past.
UPDATE: David Cutbush has claimed that he resigned from Life Is Noise and was not fired. Music Feeds is yet to verify this claim, but has contacted Jack Midalia for comment.
UPDATE: US metal band Sleep have now cancelled their 2018 Australian tour, after the allegations against David Cutbush came to light.
