ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons Cancels Remaining Australian Show Following Backlash

UPDATE: ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons Responds To Backlash Following Australian Tour Controversy

ORIGINAL STORY: ZZ Top frontman Billy Gibbons has cancelled the one remaining show on his current Australian tour, following a backlash from fans who attended his recent gigs.

Gibbons was scheduled to close out his Australian tour at Brisbane’s Eaton’s Hill Hotel tonight, 11th January, but the show has now been cancelled.

In a statement, Gibbons’ Australian tour promoters The Brewer Brothers say:

“Due to unexpected circumstances Billy F Gibbons has ended the Australian tour early. Please check back here for further imformation [sic] shortly.”

Oztix is currently contacting ticket-holders regarding refunds.

The cancellation comes after fans demanded refunds following Gibbons’ two recent shows in Thirroul, which some described as “disappointing” and “shocking”.

Music Feeds has also seen multiple reports from people who attended last night’s Newcastle show, who claim bottles were thrown at the stage.

Gibbons is yet to publicly comment on the Brisbane cancellation.
