Donald Glover Is Still Retiring Childish Gambino But He’s Making Another Project Right Now

Donald Glover has reiterated that he plans to retire Childish Gambino after the next album.

Glover took home the Best R&B Performance Grammy for ‘Redbone’ at this year’s awards and was asked after whether he stands by his comments that the next album will be the last Childish Gambino album.

“I’m really appreciative of this [award] and I’m making another project right now, just, you know, to make,” he said.

“But I like endings and I think they’re important to progress. I think like, if a lot of things had death clauses in them, we wouldn’t have a lot of problems in the world, to be honest. So I think endings are good because they force things to get better.”

It sounds like Glover will continue to make music under a different name rather than retiring from music altogether.

He’s got his work cut out for him right now though working on plenty of other projects. The second season of his TV series Atlanta starts in March and he’s also set to star in upcoming Star Wars and Lion King films.

It’s now been just over a year since the release of Awaken, My Love! but hopefully we won’t be waiting too much longer for the release of this new project he’s working on.

As well as winning an award, Glover also performed ‘Terrified’ off the album at the Grammys with an 11 year-old prodigy.
