Northlane Announce Final Aussie Show Before Taking “Time Away From Touring”

Northlane have announced their last Australian headline show for the “foreseeable future”, with plans to “take time away from touring”.

The Sydney heavy music titans will perform one last headline rager on home turf — at the UNSW Roundhouse bar on Friday, 16th March — ahead of their slot at the inaugural Aussie edition of Download Festival, which will mark their last Aussie show for, at the very least, 2018.

Speaking with Music Feeds, Northlane’s label UNFD say the band will be taking a “deserved break” later this year, to “rejuvenate and get inspired”.

The label’s statement reads:

“There is no Australian touring booked after Download in Melbourne in March, the band has a European summer festival run and after that nothing is planned as they have decided to take time away from touring. This is the first break the band has had since they started, which is a long time and we feel it’s very deserved. They’ll be taking time to rejuvenate and get inspired.”

To tide fans over for their imminent touring hiatus, Northlane have also announced a brand new live album dubbed Analog Future.

The 10-track digital LP, which features recordings captured around the globe during the band’s 2017 Mesmer tour, will land online on Friday, 16th March to coincide with their celebratory all-ages gig at the Roundhouse.

“Since Northlane formed, we have never been able to capture the rawness, energy and sound of our live show in a recording, until now,” explains guitarist Josh Smith. “Analog Future is the product of the Mesmer touring cycle. Every show was recorded and we handpicked 10 songs, performed around the world, for this release.

“To celebrate the release of Analog Future, March 16 will also mark our last Australian concert for the year, and foreseeable future with a career spanning set at the UNSW Roundhouse in Sydney.”

The setlist will showcase the very best of Northlane’s discography, with support from both new and historic bands from the Sydney scene, including Justice For The Damned, Resist The Thought and DVSR.
