The Mars Volta’s Cedric Bixler-Zavala Says They “Will Be Back Soon”

It seems The Mars Volta are planning on a reunion if Cedric Bixler-Zavala’s recent tweet is anything to go by.

A fan tweeted at them saying, “I don’t think any band can top off the Mars Volta for me,” and Bixler-Zavala replied.

“Damn. I wish I had half the confidence your proclamation has,” he wrote.

“Thank you for the kind words. We will be back soon.”

Bixler-Zavala quit back in 2013 after a lengthy rant on Twitter about his bandmate Omar Rodríguez-López.

“I can’t sit here and pretend any longer, I am no longer a member of Mars Volta,” he wrote.

They managed to smooth it over and even started a new band Antemasque. They went on to release an album in 2014. They also reunited their pre-Mars Volta band At The Drive-In who are due out on tour again later this month.

In 2016, Rodriguez-Lopez said that he was keen on reuniting the band “at some point”.

While, we’re still not really sure when that point is, it’s positive that both members are keen on firing it back up.
