Courtney Barnett Shares New Music, Teases New Album In Stripped-Back Videos

Singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett has shared snippets of new music in some new teaser videos for what appears to be an upcoming album announcement.

Posting a series of videos across social media this morning, Barnett teased something called ‘Tell Me How You Really Feel’, along with footage of her playing new material on various instruments.

The videos end with a section of a new recording, which Shazam says is a song called ‘I’m Not Your Mother, I’m Not Your Bitch’, from an upcoming album titled Tell Me How You Really Feel.

The videos are also linking to Barnett’s website, where fans will find a space for them to tell her (in 250 character or less) how they really feel. The website also mentions the date 15th February, which means something could definitely be announced later this week.

Barnett released her debut studio album Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit in 2015, and late last year she said the follow-up was “getting close”. Earlier in the year, Barnett’s partner Jen Cloher said Barnett’s next album was “definitely” coming in 2018.

In 2017, Barnett also released the collaborative album Lotta Sea Lice with Kurt Vile.
