Jack White Has A Suspicious Splendour-Sized Gap In His Tour Schedule

The 2018 Splendour In The Grass lineup is expected to be announced next month, and it looks like one of the most famous riff-slingers of all time could have time to make an appearance.

Having just released his latest solo album Boarding House Reach, former White Stripes frontman Jack White is gearing up to tour the world, and there’s a sneaky Splendour-sized gap in his schedule — much like there is for Arctic Monkeys.

White is scheduled to kick off an extensive US tour in April, before heading through Canada and Europe in June and July.

Interestingly, the European tour is currently scheduled to end on 15th July before White returns to the US in August, which means there’s plenty of time for him to take a trip down under.

Jack White isn’t a stranger to Splendour In The Grass, having headlined the festival in 2012, and he hasn’t performed in Australia in a headline capacity since his 2012 Splendour sideshows.

White was also interviewed on the latest episode of SBS program The Feed, after allowing an Australian TV crew into his Nashville studio for the very first time, suggesting that he could be subtly promoting an upcoming trip down under.

While it’s still yet to be seen if Jack White will perform at this year’s Splendour In The Grass (or even come to Australia), dozens of acts have already been ruled out of the festival, while one band has already confirmed its spot and a bunch of others are still in the running.

Read up on six big-name acts we think will probably perform at Splendour this year (and why), below.

Splendour In The Grass will return to Byron Bay this July, with or without Jack White. Stay tuned to Music Feeds for all the latest when the official lineup drops.
