Amy Shark Wins Big At 2018 Queensland Music Awards

Amy Shark has taken home five awards at the Queensland Music Awards.

Shark won Best Pop Release for ‘Weekends’, the 2018 Export Achievement Award, Highest Selling Single for ‘Adore’ and more.

It’s the second year in a row Shark has won big at the awards. Last year, she took home three awards so she’s gone two better this time around.

It comes just a week after she took out the Vanda & Young songwriting competition, winning $50,000.

The night’s two big prizes went to The Jungle Giants and Jeremy Neale. Neale took home Song Of The Year for ‘Dancin’ & Romancin’’ while The Jungle Giants won Album Of The Year for Quiet Ferocity.

Neale pocketed $20,000 for his win and will soon head to New York on a 3-month writing scholarship after receiving the Grant McLennan Fellowship.

The Kite String Tangle, WAAX and The Brave also took home awards on the night.
