The Smith Street Band Donated All Profits From Their “Last Headline Show” For A While To Charity

The Smith Street Band donated all their profits from last night’s show in Thornbury to various charities.

Last weekend, the band cancelled a show in Castlemaine after a crowd-member was arrested for alleged sexual assault at the previous gig in Hawthorn.

“At the moment I feel like I never want to play a show again,” frontman Wil Wagner wrote in a Facebook post announcing the band’s decision.

The band returned to the stage last night in Thornbury for the final show of their lengthy Australian tour and made the decision to split all profits between AIME, Minus18, The ASRC and Girls Rock Melbourne.

“We’re gonna pay our crew and the support bands but the rest of the money will be split,” they wrote on Facebook.

“It’s been a real tough week. Would love to see some friendly faces tonight. This will be our last headline show for a fair while.”

It may be the band’s last headline show for a while but they still have a few shows left for the year including a set at Snow Tunes which was announced earlier in the week.
