Gang Of Youths Postpone US Tour Due To Dave Le’aupepe’s Vocal Issues

Gang of Youths have been forced to postpone some of their overseas tour dates because frontman Dave Le’aupepe’s voice is “in a bad way”.

The Sydney lads have been killing it in the US, coming off a rave-reviewed stint at SXSW, not to mention making their highly-frothed US TV debut on Late Night With Seth Meyers.

But the ups have also come with their downs — not only did Dave have his guitar smashed by a US airline, the group’s tour van was also robbed. And now, they’ve been forced to postpone some of their US and Canadian tour dates due to their frontman’s ill health.

Taking to social media, Le’aupepe apologised to fans, revealing that he needs to take time out to treat his dodgy pipes.

“My voice, which has caused me lots of trouble before, is in a bad way,” the frontman writes. “After visiting some wonderful doctors, they advised that for the long term safety and health of my voice that we cut the tour short, so I can go home to London and receive treatment (speech therapy, vocal training etc.).

“Thankfully there is no need for surgery or anything,” he clarifies. “But I need to do the work in order to ensure that this doesn’t happen again. I am so sorry to let all of you down… I promise to do what I can to get my voice in better shape.”

Get well soon, Dave!
