Triple J’s Ben & Liam Respond After Facebook Refuses To Advertise Nude Photo

Triple j Breakfast boys Ben Harvey and Liam Stapleton have had their manhood questioned by Facebook, after they shared a NSFW nude photo for charity last week.

Ben & Liam went Full Monty in support of the Instagram account The Naked Farmer, which seeks to support people in the agricultural industry who suffer from mental health issues.

While the photo immediately caught the eye of triple j listeners, it didn’t get the best response from Facebook.

When Ben & Liam’s management reposted the photo on Facebook and put some advertising money behind it over the weekend, the repost was removed by Facebook for allegedly breaching the site’s Advertising Policies for “containing excessive amounts of skin or suggestive content”.

“We recommend using content that focuses on your product or service in a non-sexual manner,” a message from Facebook read.

In a statement to Music Feeds, Ben & Liam say they never thought their rigs would be so difficult for Facebook to host.

“I never thought such a big watering can could get you banned from Facebook,” says Liam.

“I know I’ve got a bit of a sloppy rig but I didn’t think it was that offensive.”

“We thought we covered most of the offending bits, but obviously not,” says Ben.

In an earlier statement, Ben said The Naked Farmer’s message really connected with him.

“Having grown up on a farm, I know lots of farmers who have and still are going through hard times,” he said.

“It’s one of the reasons why The Naked Farmer Instagram page resonated with me and I think it is a great way to start a conversation about mental health.”
