Singer-songwriter Eves Karydas (formerly Eves The Behavior) has used her guest spot on triple j‘s Like A Version covers segment to pay tribute to the late Queen Of Soul Aretha Franklin, who died earlier this month at the age of 76.
The Cairns-bred artist wrapped her sugary pipes around Franklin’s iconic single ‘You Make Me Feel (Like A Natural Woman)’, and did a pretty awesome job.
Let’s just say it went down a lot better than Madonna’s tribute to Aretha at the MTVA VMAs earlier this week.
In addition to belting out this vocal challenger with style and ease, Karydas also blessed listeners with a rendition of her OG track, the highly J-rotated ‘Further Than The Planes Fly’.
And she definitely made the most of her appearance in the triple j studios, also using the moment to announce that her debut album, dubbed summerskin, will be released on 28th September, and dropping a brand new single called ‘Damn Loyal’ to boot.
