Pantera Legend Vinnie Paul Died Of Natural Causes, Coroner Says

A coroner has determined that legendary metal drummer Vinnie Paul died as a result of a heart condition.

According to a report from the Clark County Coroner’s Office, Paul’s exact cause of death has been ruled as dilated cardiomyopathy (a condition that restricts the heart’s ability to pump blood) as well as severe coronary artery disease.

“Vincent Paul Abbott died from natural causes, specifically, dilated cardiomyopathy,” a rep for the Pantera and Hellyeah founder said in a statement (via Las Vegas’ KTNV)

“Severe coronary artery disease was identified as a significant condition to the cause of death according to the official report submitted by the Clark County Coroner’s office. We ask that you please continue to respect the privacy of the family and friends of Vinnie Paul. No further statement will be issued.”

Vinnie passed away unexpectedly in his Las Vegas home on June 22nd, at the age of 54.

Since his death, emotional tributes have poured in from across the metal community, with performances in his honour and words shared from the likes of Phil Anselmo and Corey Taylor at a public memorial.

Hellyeah also posted an emotional AF video tribute to their fallen brother, which is pretty much guaranteed to leave you blubbering.

RIP Vinnie.
