Eminem Samples Australian Singer On ‘Kamikaze’ Song

Eminem set the internet on bloody fire last week when he dropped his surprise album Kamikaze, but turns out an Australian singer helped him create it.

Perth jazz singer, Donna Burke, had her wildly popular song ‘Glassy Sky’, which was recorded a few years ago for the anime film Tokyo Ghoul, sampled on Eminem’s track ‘Good Guy.’

Speaking to The West Australian, Burke said that when she recorded the song, producers told her to “sing it like a dead person” to fit the film’s haunting tone.

“I was a little bit hurt by that, because I was putting everything into it,” she said.

‘Good Guy’, which is a continuation of another Kamikaze track ‘Nice Guy’, is much more subdued and chilled offering, and also features R&B artist Jessie Reyez.

Kamikaze has not been without its controversy. Justin Vernon, who collaborated with Eminem on the track ‘Fall’, is trying to “kill” the song following Eminem using a homophobic slur to diss Tyler, The Creator.
