New Album On The Way From Leonard Cohen?

The tantalising possibility of a new album from the great Leonard Cohen has arisen. The exciting news comes via Leonard Cohen’s own fan website (via The Quietus), the state of play being that a new release was touted by Cohen’s friend Alberto Manzan in an interview. He said a new LP from the grand lord of misery could be out as preposterously soon as October 2011.

However, an ‘official’ statement was later issued that stated a more likely release date was the European spring (Australian autumn) – April/May next year.

As The Quietus states, there is also talk of song titles and even lyrics. New tracks could include Born In Chains, A Street, Darkness, Love and Feel So Good.

A lyric from Feel So Good is reportedly, “Feels so good, not to love you like I did. It’s like they tore away my blindfold and they said, we’re gonna let this prisoner live.”

The last studio album from the 76-year-old was 2004’s Dear Heather.
