Belakiss Play Exclusive Show At Worldbar This Thursday 18/08/2011

Half of UK indie band BELAKISS have arrived in Australia to play an exclusive live performance at the World Bar in Kings Cross this Thursday night. Featuring an intimate performance by vocal/guitarist Ruari Meehan (son of ex-Shadows drummer Tony Meehan ) and bassist Tatia Starkey (grand daughter of famed Ringo Star). While music is clearly in their genes, watch these two talented musicians carve out their own unique identities as they perform their historic first gig in Australia!

They’ve recently caused a stir in Japan ranking #35 in their Billboard charts after playing a successful set at Fuji Rock Festival and multiple live appearances on radio and TV.  BELAKISS are kicking rock and roll out of the closet. For years, the British music scene has been dominated by the twin, yet opposing, forces of Indie and Electro. But, these four friends are old souls – their music harks back to the bohemian clubs of sixties London, free from the modern-day shackles of backing tracks and gimmicks. It promises to be a cracker of an evening.

Entry to the event is free for students and $5 after 10pm … arrive early to avoid disappointment.
