Bluejuice Sign To Dew Process!

After the success of Bluejuice’s debut album Problems, the genre-defying five piece have inked a deal with Dew Process for their upcoming second album. Woo hoo!

Currently they are in the studio recording with producer Chris Shaw, famed for his work with Public Enemy, Weezer, Bob Dylan, Bel Biv Devoe, Super Furry Animals, Ween and others.

The album will retain the choatic, dancable feel of their debut, balancing tongue-in-cheek style against brutal levels of aggression, self-hatred and misery. FUN! It’s like a house party in a maximum security prison! You can keep track of their studio action at http://bluejuiceinstudio.blogspot.com/

Bluejuice consists of the vocal interplay between Jake Stone and Stav, and the driving power of the guitarless trio of Jamie Cibej (bass), Jerry Craib (Keys) and new drummer James Hauptmann.

Their debut LP ‘Problems’ placed Bluejuice firmly front and centre, pulling the Australian Music Prize Red Bull Award, four stars reviews from magazines including Rolling Stone, and a coveted slot in the Triple J Hottest 100 at #11.

They played with Tricky, Dizzie Rascal, We Are Scientists and Souls of Mischief to name but a few and kicked arse on the stage of the Big Day Out, Splendour In The Grass, Homebake, Parklife, Pyramid Rock, Playground Weekender and many more. Jake broke several bones in the process.

“Dew Process are honoured and thrilled to be working with Bluejuice on their next record. Hopefully Jake won’t break any bones in the process!” says Dew Process Director Paul Piticco of the signing.

“Paul and his team have grown one of the country’s most successful labels. The band are I thrilled to be a part of the action. We inked the deal last week and we start in the studio the next week. That is a confidence very hard to find in the music business nowadays, ” says manager Todd Waggstaff.

“Bluejuice look forward to impressing upon Paul Piticco the uncomfortable feeling that he’s made a terrible, terrible mistake,” jokes the band.

The new album from Bluejuice will be released through Dew Process/UMA later this year.
