Street Talk at Peloton: The Perfect Art/Music Fusion?

Where the hell did August go? And where is my mind? Oh well, at least with the arrival of September comes artist-run gallery Peloton‘s special performance month. Peloton have gone beyond the usual performance art programming by throwing a raft of new bands into the mix.

This Friday night (that’s tonight!), Peloton will be hit with a post-punk assault by groups Raw Prawn (delicious!), Street Talk and Beautiful.

Here’s what Street Talk’s Daniel Grosz said about the new crew: “Street Talk is a new band featuring members of Dead Farmers and Peewee, as well as celebrity DJ Del, and general man about town Jack O’Brien.”

“We formed about two months ago and sound something like The Fall, or maybe Jonathon Richman. Let’s say both, ’cause why not.”

He says they’re also “one of the few bands to employ the excellent line-up of two guitars, bass, drums and keyboards.” Alright!

At this risk of overusing that word that Americans use to describe everything, sounds like a pretty awesome combo.

Fingers crossed this is just the start of more cross-disciplinary art-music combilation (geddit?!) programming. Let’s see!

It all starts at 6pm at Peloton (25 Meagher Street, Chippendale) and it’s FREE!
