Faker October/November 2011 Tour Dates

Faker have announced a run of 2011 tour dates, which will be their first national tour in three years. Kicking off in Byron Bay on 20th October, the Faker: Live! national headline tour will take in fourteen dates through five States & Territories this October and November, wrapping up with a hometown show on 11th November.

Straight off the back of a national tour with UK purveyors of indie pop The Wombats, Faker: Live! will see the band visit metro and regional centres around the country, giving fans an exclusive opportunity to experience the band’s brand new music and showcasing a bunch of their previous hits.

From The Press Release:

Faker’s new line-up will feature for the first time, with Chris Stabback and Liam O’Brian joining Nathan Hudson and Nichols Munnings. Nic says of the line-up “Nathan always used to say that he’d be pretty unfit if it wasn’t for touring, which makes sense really as a Faker show is often basically an aerobics workout for him. For most of you it’ll be your first chance to see us play our brand new songs live, and also to meet our new rhythm section Liam and Chris, who are both not only extremely gifted musicians, but also consistently stylish and well dressed. Chris also has the most impressive beard out of anyone who’s ever been in our band”.

Back When Solvents, a track featured on the new prequel EP How Did We Not Get Loved?, is available TODAY for free download from the band’s website www.faker.com.au. The band is pumped to share this new track with fans and offer them a taste of what to expect from ‘Get Loved’, with Nathan Hudson saying that it is “a song about a time when, with the help of a partner in crime, you felt like you could do anything”. Faker will also stream a special Back When Solvents video via their website, from September 20th.

Slated for an October 7th digital and physical release, the How Did We Not Get Loved? EP is a five-track collection that features two album tracks and three new tunes. It signals a departure from the band’s previous sounds, taking a look at the darker side of relationships and loves lost but retaining the catchy hooks and unique vocals that thrust Faker to stardom and saw the band become a household name.

Fans can pre-order the EP from www.faker.com.au from tomorrow and can also choose to bundle their Faker: Live! Ticket with the EP.
