Young MC, the Queens raised NYC rapper responsible for huge US hit Bust-A-Move in 1989, is touring Australia for the first time in his 25-year career.
As well as the multi-platinum success of his debut album Stone Cold Rhymin’ in 1990, that year he also won a plethora of awards; Winner of Best Rap Artist at the 1990 American Music Awards; Best New Pop Artist in the Billboard Music Awards; and a Grammy for Best Rap Performance.
Since then, Marvin Young has released eight albums, and written chart-topping songs by Tone Loc (Wild Thing and Funky Cold Medina) and Anastacia’s Not That Kind.
Young MC will be appearing on the Falls Festival 2011/2012 line-up this NYE as well as the Field Day Festival 2012 in Sydney on New Year’s Day
