Ball Park Music Release New Single ‘Sunscreen’ Just In Time For Summer

Brisbane band Ball Park Music have released their first new music in 12 months. The new single, ‘Sunscreen’, follows last year’s self-titled album, which contained multiple Hottest 100 entries.

‘Sunscreen’ was written by singer Sam Cromack and produced, recorded and performed by Ball Park Music at Prawn Records in Brisbane. Mix engineer Paul McKercher and mastering engineer William Bowden both carried over their roles from Ball Park Music.

‘Sunscreen’ lives up to its title and month of release in that it’s a breezy, up-tempo pop rock tune with an instantly hum-along-able vocal hook.

The Brisbane band, made up of singer and guitarist Cromack, bass player Jennifer Boyce, keys player Paul Furness, guitarist Dean Hanson, and drummer Daniel Hanson, released its self-titled sixth album in October 2020. The album was named the fourth best album of 2020 in a poll conducted by triple j.

The singles ‘Day & Age’ and ‘Cherub’ both made it into the triple j Hottest 100, with ‘Cherub’ placing fourth. In March 2020, the band’s 2011 single, ‘It’s Nice To Be Alive’, landed at #17 in triple j’s Hottest 100 of the 2010s.

Ball Park Music are up for three awards at this years ARIAs, including Best Rock Album, Best Independent Release and the public-voted Best Australian Live Act.
