Zayn Malik Dropped By Label Amid Allegations Of Assault

CONTENT WARNING: The following article discusses physical and verbal abuse.

Zayn Malik has been dropped by his label RCA amid allegations he physically assaulted his now-ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid’s mother, Yolanda Hadid, who is also the grandmother of their child.

Court documents obtained by TMZ revealed that the ex-One Direction singer was slapped with four criminal counts of harassment, with court officials saying Malik plead no contest to all but one of the charges.

According to The Sun, a “senior music source” told the publication that “a lot of people have tried desperately to get Zayn’s life and career back on track, but nothing has worked.”

“So many people who have worked with him have just given up. He’s almost impossible to control or guide.”

“A while ago his label quietly decided it was the end of the line for their relationship, and now this.”

The allegations against Malik stem from an altercation that occurred between him and Yolanda at Gigi’s home in Pennsylvania on 29th September.

During their argument, he allegedly called her “a fucking Dutch slut”, ordering her to “stay away from my fucking daughter”.

Then, as per the legal documents, he allegedly “shoved her [Yolanda] into a dresser causing mental anguish and physical pain.”

Gigi was in Paris at the time, however TMZ has heard from a close source that she was on the phone to Malik during the altercation, where he yelled at her to “strap on some fucking balls and defend your partner against your fucking mother in my house”.

Malik denies any allegations of physical contact that have been levelled against him.

He provided a statement to TMZ on the charges, saying “I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid and for the sake of my daughter I decline to give any further details and I hope that Yolanda will reconsider her false allegations and move towards healing these family issues in private.”

This week, on Wednesday, 27th October, Malik had his time in court, where he plead no contest to the harassment charges. He was fined, with conditions, which include a 90-day probation period for each charge (equalling 360 days total), a mandatory anger-management class, and a domestic violence program.

He is also not allowed to have any contact with Yolanda.

Since the whole ordeal, a number of sources have claimed that Malik and Gigi have split up, however they remain “co-parents” to their child.

“They are not together right now. They are both good parents though,” a close friend of the Malik family told PEOPLE.
