Adele Announces 24-Date Las Vegas Residency For 2022

Reports emerged in early October that Adele was plotting a Las Vegas residency for early 2022. It’s now been confirmed, with the London musician scheduled to set up shop in the Caesars Palace Colosseum every Friday and Saturday night from late January until mid April.

The sin city stint, officially titled Weekends With Adelebegins on Friday, 21st January and continues until Saturday, 16th April. Adele will have to take a breather on the 18-19th February, however, as Van Morrison is booked to play the Colosseum that weekend. At full capacity, the Caesars Palace Colosseum fits just over 4000 people.

Adele, of course, has a knack for selling enormous quantities of concert tickets, attracting more than 95,000 people to each of her two shows at Sydney’s Accor Stadium (fka ANZ Stadium) in 2017. But despite this, she’s not especially fond of the vocal strain and daily upheaval that comes with touring.

Towards the end of her 2017 world tour, Adele told the crowd at Auckland’s Mount Smart Stadium that “I don’t know if I will ever tour again. The only reason I’ve toured is you.”

Adele’s latest album, 30, came out in the second half of November. Within three days, it had become the highest selling album of the year in the USA. It debuted at no. 1 on the ARIA Top 50 Albums chart and its lead single, ‘Easy On Me’, reached the same position on the ARIA Top 50 Singles chart. As it stands, 10 of the 12 tracks on 30 are in the ARIA Top 50, three of which are in the top ten.
