Dave Grohl Reckons Foo Fighters New Comedy-Horror Film Will ‘Really, Really Blow Your Mind’

Dave Grohl has unloaded more gory details about Foo Fighters brand new horror movie, STUDIO 666, which is one of the things we have to look forward to early this year.

Hyping up the rock-comedy-horror flick, the head Foo said we can expect it to be “absolutely insane”.

“It really, really will blow your mind,” he told MOJO (via Classic Rock) in a new interview. “There’s no other band stupid enough to do this. It’s absolutely insane.”

He continued: “A couple of scenes, they’re so fucking epic, dude. Just when you think we couldn’t come up with anything more ridiculous.”

The action is set during the recording sessions for the band’s latest album, Medicine at Midnight, inside a haunted mansion.

According to Deadline, Grohl is feeling “creatively blocked” until “evil forces in the house sink into his consciousness.” This causes the creative juices to flow, “but so does the blood”.

Grohl stars along with his Foo Fighters bandmates, drummer Taylor Hawkins, bassist Nate Mendel, guitarists Pat Smear and Chris Shiflett, and keyboard player Rami Jaffee. The cast also includes Whitney Cummings, Leslie Grossman, Will Forte, Jenna Ortega and Jeff Garlin.

BJ McDonnell directed the film from a screenplay by Jeff Buhler and Rebecca Hughes, based on an original concept by Grohl.

STUDIO 666 will premiere in cinemas in the US on Friday, 25th February.

Deets of its Australian release are still to be confirmed, but we’ll bring you more as soon as we know!
