Rayna Foss, Coal Chamber’s Original Bassist, Missing Since September

UPDATE: Coal Chamber’s Rayna Foss Is Not Missing, Says Daughter

Bass player Rayna Foss has been missing since September 2021, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

Rayna Foss was one of the original members of Californian nu metal band Coal Chamber. Foss joined vocalist Dez Fafara, guitarist Miguel Rascón and drummer Mike Cox in 1994 and played on the band’s first three albums, Coal Chamber (1997), Chamber Music (1999) and Dark Days (2002).

Foss left the group in 1999, but returned for the recording of Dark Days. She left for good in 2002 to focus on raising her daughter, Kayla Moray Rose, who was born in 1999.

Foss was reported missing in September 2021, according to a report from the Fox-affiliated television station, WVUE New Orleans. Foss’ group home manager alerted authorities to her disappearance; it’s unclear whether Foss lived or worked at the group home.

The New Orleans Police Department say the 51 year old Foss was last seen on 7th September 2021. She is apparently 5-foot-3-inches tall and weighs 90 kilograms. The NOPD case is still open, according to a comment on the Instagram fan page, @raynafoss.

Foss was formerly married to drummer Morgan Rose of alt-metal band Sevendust. The couple’s daughter, Kayla Moray Rose, was born on 5th October, 1999. Rose’s Instagram activity suggests he and Kayla remain close.
