Mallrat is entering a whole new era and going off her new track ‘Your Love’? It’s gonna be a good one.
A co-produced effort by Mallrat and Styalz Fuego, ‘Your Love’ is a bright spark in an already strong catalogue of work.
Inspired by time spent listening to Memphis rap and some of the classic names of the genre (Gangsta Pat, Three 6 Mafia), Mallrat engaged in some of that confidence, pointing it toward her own music.
The beats anchor Mallrat’s vocals, laid throughout with a smoky and enticing edge. She’s on one when it comes to ‘Your Love’, and it’s exciting to hear.
“I genuinely loved producing this song, and am obsessed with the energy that the Gangsta Pat sample brings,” Mallrat says of the track.
“I shot the ‘Your Love’ video in Tasmania with my friends James Robinson (Director) and Amy Dellar (Cinematographer). My favourite shots are in the final scene – it was 1am and we spontaneously decided to shoot on the football field. And then the sprinklers came on and it was magic.”
