Trey Songz Denies Rape Allegation Amid $20 Million Legal Battle

R&B artist Trey Songz has been hit with multiple sexual assault allegations in recent years, the latest landing with a $20 million lawsuit.

The plaintiff is an anonymous woman who claims to have been raped by Trey Songz at a house party in Los Angeles in 2016. She alleges that although their encounter was at first consensual, the artist’s behaviour changed once they entered a bedroom together.

Documents obtained by TMZ detail the horrific incident, which includes the anonymous woman describing how someone entered the room during the rape, but quickly exited instead of putting a stop to the incident. Songz allegedly called the woman an Uber when it was over and instead of taking her home, the driver took her to the hospital where she was examined for signs of sexual abuse.

As to why she didn’t directly name the singer during her initial report to police, the woman alleges that she was in shock and ‘fearing for her life’.

The lawsuit follows on from a series of assault charges Trey Songz has faced over the years. Notably, just prior to the end of 2021, basketballer Dylan Gonzalez claimed that the singer raped her in a Las Vegas hotel room almost a decade ago.

Trey Songz also faces a sexual assault lawsuit filed by Jauhara Jeffries, a woman who had initially filed a suit against him in 2020. Originally, Jeffries had filed under a Jane Doe pseudonym and had her case dismissed ‘without prejudice because of a technical error’, and has now been refiled.

Jeffries alleges that she was digitally raped by Trey Songz in a Miami nightclub following an event thrown by Diddy that they had both attended earlier in the evening.

According to a news report by NBC, Songz, Jeffries (in shock) and her friends left the club and got into his vehicle, where she claimed Songz took his shirt off. ‘Fearing more assault’, Jeffries began recording Songz for her own safety. The document then states that Songz tried to grab her phone and when she would not give it to him, he instructed his driver to pull over and ‘forcibly remove Jeffries from the vehicle’.

For Trey Songz’ part, he and his legal team are denying any wrongdoing, saying, “Trey and his team are confident in the legal process and that there will be an abundance of exonerating information to come over the next few weeks.”
