Slipknot fans are pissed at the Grammys after late drummer Joey Jordison was left out of the award ceremony’s annual ‘In Memorium’ segment.
Each year, the Grammy’s pays tribute to all the musicians we’ve lost in a special video segment aired during the ceremony.
However, despite Slipknot being past Grammy winners themselves and Jordan tragically passing away last year at the age of just 46, the band’s founding drummer was criminally overlooked.
This year’s In Memoriam segment honoured the likes of Charlie Watts (The Rolling Stones), Mark Lanegan (Screaming Trees), Dusty Hill (ZZ Top) and, of course, Taylor Hawkins. But there was no mention of Jordison.
“The Grammys omitting Joey Jordison is disgraceful,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
While another added, “no tribute to joey jordison at the #GRAMMYs should be illegal”.
During his tenure with the ‘Knot, Jordison was nominated for seven Grammys, and ultimately won one for Best Metal Performance with his bandmates for ‘Before I Forget’ in 2006.
