Jimmy Barnes Cancels QLD Tour Dates After Testing COVID-Positive

Jimmy Barnes has revealed that he has tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, the performer has had to cancel shows and postpone upcoming shows in Queensland.

Barnes was set to headline the Legends of the Lawn festival this year in Mackay this weekend (May 21); an event also set to feature artists like Vanessa Amorosi and The Living End. His COVID-19 diagnosis has now led the festival to be postponed until August 27.

His appearance at the upcoming Daydream Island event on the Whitsundays this week (May 19) has been completely cancelled, with The Black Sorrows and Diesel now scheduled to take his place.

Sharing his COVID-positive diagnosis to social media, Barnes revealed that his symptoms weren’t bad so far, lamenting that he can’t be out on the road.

“Sincere apologies to everyone who’s been inconvenienced by this,” he wrote.

“I know you’ve all travelled and planned your holidays around it. I’ll make it up to everyone before too long. Have a great weekend up there. I know where I’d rather be.”
