PREMIERE: Just A Leo Deliver Polished Indie-Pop On ‘Little Rollercoaster’

Naarm/Melbourne-based indie-pop duo, Just A Leo, will release the new single, ‘Little Rollercoaster’ on Friday, 20th May. We’re premiering it on Music Feeds.

Just A Leo is a collaboration between lead vocalist Kalliope and drummer/bassist/keyboardist Andie. The pair generates a dreamy mix of indie-pop and R&B on ‘Little Rollercoaster.’ It’s their most polished production to date. The track was mixed by Toby Dundas (The Temper Trap) and mastered by Adam Dempsey (Angie McMahon, Courtney Barnett).

“‘Little Rollercoaster’ is about love,” the band said in a statement. “But it’s not about full-blown love. It’s about that first, initial, innocent stage of the crush, where you both know you like each other but you’re still scared to make the first move. It’s the butterflies when you brush hands and the excitement of running into them.”

Just A Leo’s previous singles, such as 2022’s ‘Hear Me’ and 2021’s ‘Hideaway’, have received airtime on triple j Unearthed, 2SER, 4ZZZ, Radio Adelaide, and RTR FM. Declan Byrne, host of triple j’s Home & Hosed, praised ‘Hear Me,’ saying, “Just A Leo are taking back the power on this one!”

‘Little Rollercoaster’, like band’s debut EP, Sick Of All the Rain (2021), will appeal to fans of Florence + the Machine, Arlo Parks and Spill Tab. Listen to ‘Little Rollercoaster’ below ahead of its release this Friday, 20th May.
