Camp Cope’s Georgia Maq Announces Solo Show With Eight-Piece Band

Georgia Maq, front person for indie emo rockers Camp Cope, has announced a show at The Brunswick Ballroom in Melbourne. The show is happening on Wednesday, 22nd June and Maq will be supported by Montgomery. Maq is also performing at the Sydney Opera House for Vivid LIVE on Saturday, 4th June.

Maq will be accompanied by a pianist and string ensemble at both shows. They’re the Camp Cope songwriter’s debut performances with her eight-piece live band. The upcoming Brunswick Ballroom gig follows the cancellation of Maq’s Melbourne Music Week performance earlier this year.

Maq will be playing material from her 2019 solo album, Pleaser, as well as a bunch of newer tracks. Maq released the single ‘Joe Rogan’ in December 2021. At the time, Maq described it as a reflection on her “historically bad taste” in men and an examination of boundaries and standards in the dating world.

Pleaser, Maq’s solo debut, came out in December 2019. Camp Cope released their third album, Running with the Hurricane, on Friday, 25th March. The band recently played headline shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Castlemaine. They’ll wrap up their album tour in lutruwita/Tasmania in late June.
