Gen Z Icon beabadoobee Shares New Single ‘Lovesong’

Critically acclaimed Gen Z icon beabadoobee has shared a new single ‘Lovesong’.  A self-described “cute love ballad”, ‘Lovesong’ calls back to Bea’s acoustic origins and elevates the track with stirring horns and gentle spaced out piano twinkles. Lifted from her forthcoming second studio album Beatopia (pronounced Bay-A-Toe-Pee-Uh), which drops on 15 June via Dirty Hit.

Speaking about ‘Lovesong’ beabadoobe explains writing the song was a bit of a slow burn.

“Lovesong is a song that I had bits for written since my second ever EP. The chorus was actually already written since Loveworm. I just didn’t have any chords to sing it with. It’s actually written in a really strange tuning that I forget. And yeah, it’s just another love song, another sweet love song. It was one of the last songs I recorded for Beatopia”

Alongside singles ‘Talk’ and ‘See You Soon’, ‘Lovesong’ is another tase of beabadoobee’s thrillingly diverse and experimental second album. Beatopia is a fantastical yet deeply personal word that was formed in the imagination of a 7-year-old beabeadoobee and has been carried with her ever since. Housing Bea’s most impressive work to date, Beatopia marks a huge progression, in 14 songs she traverses fuzzy rock, classic singer-songwriter, psychedelia, midwest emo and outright pop whilst remaining undeniably herself throughout.

beabadoobee is currently on tour across the US with Halsey as main support for their arena shows across May and June. beabadoobee will play a headline tour of the UK this October, culminating in a huge show at London’s legendary Brixton Academy, tickets are on sale now from beabadoobee.com. beabadoobee is also set to play shows out in the US with Bleachers and festival shows worldwide including Glastonbury, Governor’s Ball, Summer Sonic, Mad Cool, Rock En Seine, TRNSMT and more.

She has accumulated 4.6 billion streams worldwide and has a 3 million+ social reach, with a huge, dedicated Gen-Z fan base.
