Bird Of Tokyo’s Adam Spark Releases Debut Single ‘In Closure’

Birds of Tokyo guitarist and producer Adam Spark has released his debut solo single, ‘In Closure’. It’s the first taste of Spark’s upcoming album, Snow vs Mountain. ‘In Closure’ is out now through Paradise & Wilson/EMI Music Australia.

Snow vs Mountain is an album of neo-classical music. Spark made the record in Sydney, Byron Bay, and London over the last three years. The guitarist and composer worked closely with Otto Wicks Green (sleepmakeswaves) and British arranger Audrey Riley, whose string arrangements can be heard on albums by Smashing Pumpkins, Muse, Coldplay, and The Smiths, as well as Birds of Tokyo’s self-titled album (2010).

Spark chose ‘In Closure’ as the album’s lead single based on its thematic resonance. “Hope and forward movement are born out of the stillness which follows life’s low moments, and you don’t know what you’re going to do next”, Spark said in a statement.

“It felt right to launch this Snow vs Mountain project with this piece after the last couple of difficult years that we, as humanity, have all shared together. There is always light ahead of us and so I wanted this work to bloom and blossom and glow with big, beautiful strings to remind us of this.”

Spark will premiere songs from Snow vs Mountain at Sydney’s Cell Block Theatre as part of Vivid Sydney on Saturday, 18th June. The official album release date is to be confirmed. Watch the video for ‘In Closure’ below.
