Tropical Fuck Storm Announce ‘Fuck the Rain Away’ 2022 Tour

Tropical Fuck Storm have announced a four-date Australian tour for this August. The run will kick off on Thursday, 4th August at The Triffid in Brisbane before continuing along to Sydney and Darwin (for this year’s edition of Darwin Festival) and wrapping up at The Croxton in Melbourne on Friday, 12th August.

Gareth Liddiard and co. will be joined on the road by Sydney noise-rock duo Party Dozen, who are themselves gearing up to release their third album, The Real Work, next month, along with Melbourne punks Delivery. Tickets for all shows will be on sale from 10am tomorrow (1st July) via Tropical Fuck Storm’s website.

Tropical Fuck Storm – ‘Bumma Sanger’

Tropical Fuck Storm released their third album, Deep States, last year, after previewing it with singles like ‘Suburbiopia’, ‘Legal Ghost’ and ‘G.A.F.F.’ In March 2022, the band teamed up with King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard for a joint EP, Satanic Slumber Party. At the time, the band’s Fiona Kitschin explained that the collaboration emerged while King Gizz were recording their 2019 album, Fishing for Fishies, with Liddiard.

“After a long day recording and a few too many drinks, the Gizz guys and us all wore hats and recorded a very long jam, which we called ‘Hat Jam,’” Kitschin said. “Tropical Fuck Storm took the ‘Hat Jam’ recording and turned it into Satanic Slumber Party. It’s four guitars, three drummers, two synths, bass, harmonica, electronic sax and lots of singers and silliness. It’s like ‘Love Shack’ by The B-52’s except it’s evil.”
