The Dirty Three have announced Australian and New Zealand tour dates in March 2012 on the back of a new album, which will be released in February. The tour will have them doing their own headlining shows, festival appearances and their first ever performance at the Sydney Opera House.
The trio consists of Australian rock stalwart Warren Ellis, guitarist Mick Turner, and drummer Jim White. Formed in Melbourne in 1991, this violin-led trio has earned an international fan base through years of relentless touring and spellbinding live performances. Touring Australia 2009 was when they performed their album Ocean Songs in its entirety as part of the Don’t Look Back classic albums series, and a run of shows that sold out across the country confirmed them as one of the greatest live acts in the world.
As well as music from their new album, this tour will also feature songs from many of their most loved and influential works, including Ocean Songs, Cinder, Horse Stories and more.
