New Elliott Smith Documentary Announced

Titled Heaven Adores You, a new documentary about the life, and death, of troubled troubadour Elliott Smith has just been announced reports Flavorwire. The film will in particular explore the impact he had as a songwriter following his death in 2003. To be directed by Nicholas Rossi, the film is intended to be different than 2009’s indie biopic Searching For Elliott Smith.

Rossi himself on his Kickstarter page lays out that the film “by threading together musical performances of those influenced by the music of Elliott Smith, through the lush and often isolating images of the three major cites he lived in throughout his short life ( Portland, OR, New York, NY and Los Angeles, CA ), this film will go beyond your average “behind the music” documentary by offering a visual journey and an intimate look at the singer’s prolific songwriting, and the impact that he had on his fans and other musicians today.”

You can watch a trailer for the documentary over at Flavorwire, and stay posted for any more news on an Australian release.
