Trent Reznor: ‘Grammys Are Rigged And Cheap’

Trent Reznor has lost his Grammy awards and he couldn’t care less. In an interview with the Hollywood reporter Reznor explains that his Oscar and Golden Globe are kept in his living room, but he doesn’t know where his Grammy trophies are:

Why don’t the Grammys matter? Because it feels rigged and cheap — like a popularity contest that the insiders club has decided. The movie side is interesting, challenging, different and rewarding in way that I hadn’t experienced through my music career.

Reznor plans to release a debut album in early 2012 for his side project How To Destroy Angels. The group consists of Reznor, Mariqueen Maandig (Reznor’s wife) and Atticus Ross, whom he has a recent Golden Globe nomination with for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo score, and won an Oscar for previous David Fincher movie The Social Network.
