Off the back of the long-awaited Sebadoh reunion tour in September; alternative songwriter Lou Barlow is returning to Australia in 2012.
Presented by Music Feeds, Barlow is playing in intimate venues across Australia, armed only with his guitar. A founding member of Dinosaur Jr. one of the most acclaimed rock bands of the late 80s / early 90s, Lou is considered a pioneer of the lo-fi movement.
After parting ways with Dinosaur Jr. in 1989, Barlow turned his attention to side project Sebadoh and by 1993 had released six records and earned a devoted cult following. In 1994 Barlow formed Folk Implosion, which stemmed his biggest commercial hit to date, a song written for the Kids soundtrack titled Natural One. In 2005, Barlow reunited with Dinosaur Jr. who have since released and reissued several albums and toured the world extensively.
Barlow has also released two solo albums Emoh and Goodnight Unknown, both reviving critical acclaim from UK Music Press organisations such as NME and Q. This strictly limited set of shows are surely not to be missed when one of the most well respected songwriters of his generation hits Australia’s shores across April.
