Molly Meldrum Not Far Away From Rehab

Australian music industry icon Ian ‘Molly’ Meldrum’s recovery is rolling along, with a move soon from hospital to a rehabilitation centre.

Molly’s spokesperson and brother Brian Meldrum released the following statement last night:

“Doctors said today they were pleased with the progress being made by Molly Meldrum, and that he was moving closer to being transferred to private rehabilitation.”

Brian told ABC Local Radio in Sydney this morning that Molly was still far from being able to read a book or watch television, and that his basic motor skills will hopefully come back with rehab.

He added that it was likely that his brother was drifting in and out of pain at the moment.

He will be in rehab for months, and the extent of brain damage caused by head trauma is not yet known.

Meldrum had been putting up Christmas decorations for a party at his Richmond home on December 15th when he fell 3 metres from a ladder and suffered serious head injuries, as well as broken ribs and a punctured lung.
