Australia’s Set Sail Singer Deported

Australia’s favourite busking band, Set Sail, have hit a snag in their voyage to success. Only months after completing their self-funded, busking world tour, which took them to Hong Kong, Paris, Dubai, Berlin, Iceland, California and many other locations, their singer, Brandon has been deported due to an improper visa.

However, there is a chance that the Australian government will allow Brandon back into Australia on a 420 Entertainment Visa. In order to get a 420 Entertainment Visa, the band must convince them that they are valuable enough to the Australian music Industry.

The Facebook petition, which currently has 7,000 attendees since it was set up 24 hours ago, requires around 40,000 for it to make a difference. The band, who are often seen in Pitt Street Mall, just finished an Australian tour, consisting of dates in all major cities.

The Facebook petition is available here and the documentation of their busking world tour is avaliable here, which includes fantastic covers of Bon Iver’s Calgary and The Verve’s Bittersweet Symphony, which is available below.

To help save one of the best unsigned bands left in music within Australia, please attend the Facebook petition and show some support; one click could save a band.
