Calling All Cars Singer Doing Fine After Big Day Out Accident

Yesterday we had reports that the frontman of Melbourne band Calling All Cars, Haydn Ing had been rushed to hospital after being knocked out while performing their set at the Big Day Out (Sydney) yesterday.

The enthusiastic singer was keen to join in with the crowd after playing their second song, a muscular cover of Mclusky’s To Hell with Good Intentions, and Calling All Cars crowd favourite.

Haydn saw his opportunity and jumped into the pit. Half a minute later it was all over … a fan’s elbow had struck him squarely on the jaw and he was down and out for the count. The music stopped, the crowd parted and Haydn was lifted to safety and the care of the Big Day Out medical staff. Ten minutes later he came to, but by then the band’s set was over, and he was rushed to hospital.

A tweet this morning says that he is a bit sore, and sad he didn’t get to party. He’ll be ready to go again for the band’s next appearance at the Big Day Out in Melbourne on the 29th January.
