Sniffer Dogs Set To Unleash On Future Music Festival Sydney

Police have issued a statement confirming they will conduct a massive sniffer dog operation at The Sydney Future Music Festival Royal Randwick Racecourse today. Police will be targeting illegal drug use and supply, alcohol-related crime and anti-social behaviour.

Officers from Central Metropolitan Region, the Dog Unit, including drug-detection dogs, Mounted Police Unit, Licensing Police and Commuter Crime Unit, will be involved in the operation, which will take place in and around the venue.

Operation Commander, Detective Superintendent Gavin Dengate said:

There will be a large contingent of overt and covert police, including drug-detection dogs, targeting those taking or dealing illegal drugs, anti-social behaviour, and alcohol-fuelled violence…Recreational drugs are not only illegal, they are also dangerous and potentially life-threatening. They are especially dangerous when mixed with alcohol…Anyone who brings drugs with them can expect to be caught.
