Ian Turpie Dead Aged 68

Australian game show host and former pop star, Ian Turpie, has died aged 68. Turpie, who was affectionately known as Turps, lost a year-long battle with cancer.

Turpie featured on Bandstand, The Graham Kennedy Show and The Go Show, just to name a few, but he was best known as the host of The Price Is Right during the 80s.

Turpie was born in Melbourne in 1943; his career began in radio before he moved to television. He starred in radio programs alongside Sir Robert Helpmann and June Bronhill, and featured in D24.
